#VRE (The Velvet Rope Experience) is a PREMIERE pop-up visual arts showcase that infuses dope artistry, music, and red velvet-flavored eats, while paying homage to well-known music artists, bands or groups.

This third installment of the #VRE showcase will serve as a tribute to the iconic American band EARTH, WIND and FIRE (who are noted for being the first African-American Group inducted into the Kennedy Center Honors), while also creatively identifying the mighty elements of the universe Earth, Wind and Fire.

Although our society has been tremendously impacted by these elements and by the effects of the novel coronavirus, the pandemic has promoted unexpected environmental benefits. #VRE’s Earth, Wind and Fire tribute will serve as a celebration of the restoration of our beloved planet Earth.

Accordingly, the artistry featured in the showcase will be be inspired by the music group and/or the mighty elements EARTH, WIND and FIRE, and are geared towards earth conservation and environmental activism. These concepts will be illustrated through visual art, interactive art, live art, body painting, fashion and mixed media art using found objects collected from the Anacostia River. In light of recent events such as the novel coronavirus, escalating protests, police brutality, Black Livers Matter, etc., we will also feature artwork that seek to positively address these subject matters and aim to invoke healing.
