#VRE (The Velvet Rope Experience) is a PREMIERE pop-up visual arts showcase that infuses dope artistry, music, and red velvet-flavored eats, while paying homage to well-known music artists, bands or groups.
This second installment of the VRE showcase served as a tribute to iconic Nola-based artists to include PJ Morton, Trombone Shorty, Frank Ocean, Lil’ Wayne, Juvenile, Mystikal, Baby, Mannie Fresh, Master P., DJ Jubilee, Big Freedia, etc. and took place on Saturday, August 31st from 4-9pm at Po Boy Jim Bar and Grill on 1934 9th St NW (By-U Street).
The artwork featured in this show spoke to the colorful and vibrant culture of New Orleans, which is known for their distinct music, creole cuisine, unique dialect, street murals, scenic landscapes, colorful architecture and annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras.
